  These are DCTLs: tiny GPU effects that drop straight onto a clip like any
  built-in filter. No plug-in installer, no After Effects, no overlays to line
  up. Pick one from a dropdown, move the sliders, keyframe anything. They work
  at any resolution and any frame rate.

  0.  REQUIREMENTS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  •  DaVinci Resolve STUDIO (the paid version).
     DCTL is an OpenFX filter that ships only with Studio — the free version
     can't load it. Everything else about the pack is version-agnostic.

  •  Any operating system Resolve runs on (macOS, Windows, Linux).

  •  Any timeline resolution / frame rate. The effects are resolution-aware.

  1.  INSTALL  (one copy, once)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  DCTL effects live in Resolve's LUT folder. Copy the seven .dctl files into it.

  STEP 1 — Find the seven files (they end in .dctl):

     TruVisuals_CRT_Scanlines.dctl      TruVisuals_CRT_Static.dctl
     TruVisuals_CRT_Grain.dctl          TruVisuals_CRT_Tracking.dctl
     TruVisuals_CRT_Vignette.dctl       TruVisuals_CRT_Glitch.dctl
     TruVisuals_CRT_ChromaBleed.dctl

  STEP 2 — Paste them into the LUT folder for your OS:

     macOS
        /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/LUT/

     Windows
        C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\LUT\

     Linux
        /home/resolve/LUT/     (or your install's configured LUT path)

     Tip (macOS): in Finder press  Shift-Cmd-G  and paste the path above.
     You may keep them loose in LUT/ or inside a subfolder like LUT/TruVisuals/.

  STEP 3 — Make Resolve see them. Either:
        • Restart DaVinci Resolve, OR
        • Color page  >  LUTs panel  >  "..." options menu  >  Update Lists

  2.  APPLY TO A CLIP
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  1.  Open the Effects panel (top-right toolbar, Edit page — or the Color page).
  2.  Go to  OpenFX  >  Filters  >  ResolveFX Color  >  DCTL.
  3.  Drag "DCTL" onto your clip (Edit page) or onto a node (Color page).
  4.  In the Inspector / node settings, open the  DCTL List  dropdown and choose
      a  TruVisuals_CRT_...  effect.
  5.  Adjust the sliders. Click the keyframe diamond next to any slider to
      animate it over time.

  Want several effects at once? Add another DCTL (Edit page: the OpenFX stacks;
  Color page: add more nodes) — see RECIPES below for good combinations.

  3.  THE SEVEN EFFECTS  &  THEIR CONTROLS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  Defaults are deliberately gentle so you can push them up rather than fight
  them down. Sliders marked "px" are measured in pixels and therefore scale
  with your footage — nudge them higher on 4K, lower on SD.

  SCANLINES  —  CRT raster lines with an optional rolling refresh band.
     Intensity ....... 0.18   (0–1)     darkness of the lines
     Line Spacing .... 4      (2–12 px) gap between lines
     Roll Speed ...... 2      (0–30)    refresh-band drift speed · 0 = off
     Refresh Band .... 0.06   (0–1)     brightness of the rolling band

  GRAIN  —  Animated film grain, eased off in highlights and shadows.
     Amount .......... 0.30   (0–1)     overall grain strength
     Size ............ 1      (1–8 px)  clump size · higher = coarser

  VIGNETTE  —  Rounded CRT-tube corner darkening (static).
     Amount .......... 0.25   (0–1)     how dark the edges get
     Size ............ 0.25   (0–0.7)   how far in the darkening reaches
     Roundness ....... 4      (2–8)     2 = oval · 8 = squared-off tube

  CHROMA BLEED  —  RGB chromatic aberration that builds toward the edges.
     Amount .......... 2.5    (0–12 px) colour-fringe offset
     Edge Falloff .... 0.5    (0–1)     0 = uniform · 1 = edges only

  STATIC  —  Rolling VHS snow band with sparse coloured speckle.
     Amount .......... 0.11   (0–1)     fine all-over snow
     Band Intensity .. 0.28   (0–1)     snow inside the rolling band
     Roll Speed ...... 6      (-60–60)  band speed · sign flips direction
     Band Width ...... 0.10   (0–0.5)   thickness of the band
     Speckle ......... 0.6    (0–1)     sparse coloured specks

  TRACKING  —  Horizontal tracking-error tear that drifts up the frame.
     Intensity ....... 0.45   (0–1)     strength of the tear
     Band Height ..... 70     (8–400px) tear thickness
     Roll Speed ...... 4      (-20–20)  drift speed · sign flips direction

  GLITCH  —  Digital datamosh: blocks displace and RGB-split in bursts.
     Intensity ....... 0.5    (0–1)     displacement + split amount
     Frequency ....... 0.10   (0–1)     how often blocks fire
     Block Size ...... 16     (4–80 px) block height

  4.  RECIPES  (stack them into looks)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  DCTLs layer in order. On the Edit page each new DCTL sits on top of the last;
  on the Color page, chain them left-to-right as nodes. Add them in the order
  shown. Put Vignette and Scanlines LAST so grain and chroma sit "under the
  glass."

  WORN VHS TAPE  — the full analog home-video look
     Vignette  >  Grain  >  Chroma Bleed  >  Static (light)

  BROADCAST CRT  — an old TV / monitor on screen
     Scanlines  >  Grain (fine)  >  Vignette  >  Chroma Bleed (subtle)

  DATAMOSH HIT  — a beat-synced glitch stab (keyframe the burst — see below)
     Glitch  >  Chroma Bleed  >  Static

  SUBTLE FILM  — gentle organic texture for modern footage
     Grain (low)  >  Vignette (low)

  Fastest way to hit a whole sequence: drop the stack on an ADJUSTMENT LAYER
  above your timeline instead of on each clip.

  5.  KEYFRAMING  —  a glitch burst on the beat
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  Every slider animates. To punch a glitch in and out on one beat:

     1.  Park the playhead just before the beat. Set Glitch > Frequency to 0.
     2.  Click the keyframe diamond next to Frequency to start animating it.
     3.  Move ~2–3 frames forward, raise Frequency to about 0.6 (a key is added).
     4.  Move ~2–3 frames further, drop Frequency back to 0.

  Result: a ~6-frame burst that hits and clears. The same trick drives Static
  dropouts, Tracking rolls, and Scanlines refresh sweeps.

  6.  PRO TIPS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  •  Order matters — Vignette & Scanlines go last, over the top of everything.
  •  Push, don't fight — the defaults are gentle on purpose; raise them.
  •  Mind the px sliders — Line Spacing, Band Height & Block Size are in pixels;
     bump them up on 4K so the look reads the same as it does at HD.
  •  Freeze a band — set a Roll Speed to 0 to lock a static/tracking band in
     place instead of letting it drift.
  •  Blend for subtlety — lower the clip's (or adjustment layer's) opacity, or
     use a Layer Mixer node, to ease the whole look back.
  •  Keyframe the chaos — animate Glitch, Tracking & Static; leave Grain and
     Vignette steady so the base image stays anchored.

  7.  TROUBLESHOOTING
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  I don't see the effects in the DCTL List
     •  Confirm the files are in the LUT folder for your OS (section 1).
     •  Update Lists (or restart Resolve). See section 1, step 3.
     •  Confirm you're running Resolve STUDIO — the free version has no DCTL.

  "DCTL Build Error" on a clip
     •  These files are tested and build cleanly. A build error almost always
        means a stale cached build: re-select the effect from the DCTL List, or
        restart Resolve to clear it.

  The effect looks too strong / too weak
     •  It scales with resolution. On 4K, raise the px sliders (Line Spacing,
        Band Height, Block Size); on SD, lower them.

  I can't find the DCTL filter in Effects
     •  It's under  OpenFX > Filters > ResolveFX Color > DCTL. Type "DCTL" in
        the Effects search box.
